Disciple Building for Walking with Christ

How We Build Disciples at Lisbon
 
     Many times the church gets so busy that it loses sight of why it exists.  Matthew 28:18-20 indicates we are to reach out to those who have not given their lives to Christ and to help mature the disciples who have.  Jesus had an intentional strategy that He used to prepare His men for the task of building the Kingdom.  It is our belief that if discipleship is central to God's heart and essential for believers to have life in their daily Christian walk, then we must dedicate structured time towards it.  We are trying to intentionally develop passionate followers of Christ through GROW Groups. 
 
 
     GROW Groups for adults and D-Groups for Youth meet from 5:45 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. each Sunday evening three weeks a month.  The fourth Sunday evening is for the purpose of building relationship within the group through some form of fellowship, believers worship service, or get-together.  Evening worship and children's ministry activities begin at 5:45 p.m. and finish at 7:15 p.m.  CLASSES 101-401 continue to be offered periodically. Those who are not in a GROW Group have the evening service available each week.  We also hope to have a GROW Group that meets on Wednesday evening for those who are involved in ministry on Sunday nights.  The Wednesday schedule includes:  Fourth Wednesday night mission activities or churchwide outreach, RA's, GA's, Prayer Meeting, Youth (U-TURN), and elective classes like Crown Financial Ministries or Parenting Classes.
