Our Beliefs and Church Mission Statement

Our Beliefs Statements

In essential beliefs - we have UNITY.

Ephesians 4:4-6 - "There is one body and one Spirit...There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and  one

      God and father of all..."

In nonessential beliefs - we have LIBERTY.

Romans 14:1, 4, 12, 22 - "Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable

matters...Who are you to judge someone else's servant?  To his own master he stands or falls...

So then each of us will give an account of himself to God...so whatever you believe about these

things keep between yourself and God."

In all our beliefs - we show CHARITY.

I Corinthians 13:2 (PH) - "If I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets

of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains - but have no love, I amount to nothing at

      all."

SCRIPTURE

KEY WORDS

There is one GOD who created, sustains, and rules over all things.  He has eternally existed and revealed Himself as three distinct persons--Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- each with distinct functions, but possessing the same essence, nature and perfections in His attributes.  He is worthy of all love, reverence, and obedience.

Attributes

The BIBLE is the Word of God without any error.  It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit.  It is the supreme authority for saving knowledge, faith, and living.
Psalm 12:6; 119:105, 160

Proverbs 30:5

2 Timothy 3:16

2 Peter 1:20-21

Infallible

JESUS CHRIST is the divine Son of God.  He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, is wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died as a substitutionary sacrifice for man's sin, was buried, arose bodily from the dea, ascended to heaven's glory and will return again to reign as King of kings and Lord of lords.

The HOLY SPIRIT is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and Son of God.  He is present in the world to make men aware of their sin and of their need for Jesus Christ.  The Holy Spirit lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation.  He provides the Christians with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance in doing what is right.  He gives every believer a spiritual gift when he/she is saved.  As Christians, we seek to live under His control.
John 14:16-19; 16:7-15

Conviction

In the beginning, God created MAN in His own image.  In no sense is man the product of evolution.  Mankind fell through the sin of the first man, Adam.  The result is that all people have sinned and lost their ability to live for the glory of God.  Man's sin has resulted in physical and spiritual death.  Man is in need of forgiveness and salvation.
Genesis 1:26-27; 3:1-24

Isaiah 53:6a; 59:1-2

Romans 3:10-23; 5:12; 6:23

Sin

Sin nature

SALVATION is a free, gracious act of God.  It is not based upon man's good deeds.  Only by turning from his sin and self-ruled life and by trusting in Jesus as God's offer of forgiveness can a person be saved.  Eternal life begins the moment a person receives the gift of salvation.
John 1:12; 14:6

Regeneration

If a person has been genuinely saved, he cannot "lose" it.  Since God gives us eternal life through Christ, the believer has ETERNAL SECURITY.  Our salvation is maintained by the power and grace of God and not by the efforts of the believer.

Preservation

The CHURCH is the body and bride of Christ and God's forever family.  It is made up of baptized believers who regularly join together for worhip, ministry, evangelism, fellowship, and discipleship.

People who die without faith in Jesus Christ will spend eternity in Hell.  People who die with their sins forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ will spend ETERNITY in Heaven.  The Bible teaches that both Heaven and Hell are literal places of eternal existence.

Great White Throne Judgment

God has ordained the FAMILY as the foundational institution of human society.  Marriage is the uniting of one man to one woman in a covenant commitment for a lifetime.  The husband is to love, protect, provide for, and lead his family.  The wife is to graciously submit to the servant leadership of her husband.  The husband and wife are of equal value before God.  Children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing from the Lord.  They are to be reared in the fear and nurture of the Lord.  Children are to honor and obey their parents.

We believe in the SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, but not the separation of God and government.
