Missions & Special MinistriesSpecial Ministries"Sharing the love of Christ with the Lives in Our Community"
During August, our church members ministered to the staffs at our neighboring Whitewater High School and Sara Harp Minter Elementary School. We had a total of 14 gallons of home-churned ice cream! The delicious flavors of vanilla, rocky road, Mexican chocolate, peach, blueberry, strawberry, and chocolate frosty were well received by the personnel at both schools. We have received several thank-you notes attesting to that!
Upcoming Ministry Opportunities
Operation Christmas Child - From October 24-November 14, our members will have opportunity to fill and donate shoeboxes for needy children throughout the world. These shoeboxes are used in the remote places of the world as witnessing tools by the Christian workers in those regions to try to win these young souls for God's Kingdom. Every shoebox is a ministry opportunity, if you prepare it and donate it with prayer for the child who receives it!
TrunkFest - October 30 - our members will have the opportunity to hose another "TrunkFest" for the children of our community. Plans now are to hold the TrunkFest inside the church educational building as we did last year. We wil need candy and inexpensive items (trinkets??) to give away to children and will be looking for donations from our members and volunteers to host the individual stops at TrunkFest. Please contact Sandra Turner to volunteer your time and donations.
Shoebox Processing - December 8 - We will again be going to the Christmas "Shoebox" Ministry processing center from 4:00-7:00 p.m. to help prepare the shoeboxes for shipment overseas. THis is an opportunity to have your hand in preparing the witnessing tools that could transform lives for eternity. We have reservations available for up to 12 people. If you want to be a part of this worthwhile ministry, see or call Lucy or Doug Fields before you miss out.
