"Food for Fellowship" is a cookbook sponsored by the Ladies' Phase 3 Grow Group. The books are three-ring binders, have 648 recipes on 250 pages. The books are on sale for $15 each with proceeds going to the building fund. If interested in purchasing, please call Cile at WOW is looking for volunteers to help set up tables and chairs for WOW gatherings. If you are willing to help, please contact Elaine Appling.
Sanctuary Renovation Begins!
Effective June 1, 2010, the Sanctuary/Worship Center and Welcome Center will be closed!
June 2, 2010: Wednesday night service will begin meeting in the church felloship hall until the renovation is complete.
June 6, 2010: Sunday services will begin meeting in the fellowship hall until the renovation is complete.

Bible Drill Retreat Registration Deadline
Below is the schedule of activities: Bible Drill Retreat - Norman Park - November 6-7: Children, Grades 4-6 and Youth, Grades 7-9; Cost $40 each; deadline is September 20th. For details and information, please see Lucy Fields.
Help Needed: Healthy men and/or women to set up tables and chairs before each W.O.W. (Senior Citizens) activity. Activities occur no more than once monthly, usually on the 2nd Thursday. Tables can be set up any time prior to the scheduled activities, as long as nothing else is scheduled in the Fellowship Hall. If you are able to assist in this ministry, please contact Elaine Appling.
New Member Classes are scheduled as follows:
Sunday, August 9* - Class 101 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. This class is to help you "discover" the basics of becoming a member at Lisbon Baptist. Anyone who is interested in joining is encouraged to attend, as are folks who have been members for awhile but have not yet taken the class. Please see Ben Thacker for more details.

Value driven - where character and faith are taught by emphasizing a monthly value
User Friendly - where your friends will thank you for bringing them
Creatively Wired- where video, lights, music, storytelling, and drama are used to make a lasting impression
Family Centered - where parents and kids spend quality time together. On the first Sunday of each month parents are asked to attend “Family Time” from 12:10 until 12:30 pm. During that time the virtue of the month is introduced to parents and special tools to help put this to practice are given to each family.
Kid Focused - where learning is fun and relevant for K-5 through 6th grade age kids
Volunteer Fueled - where everyone can participate and get connected
What is the difference between KidStuf and Sunday School?
KidStuf is for kids AND parents. Because parents have a whole lot more influence and time with their kids, we believe that what happens at home is much more important than what happens at church. KidStuf exists to partner with parents to give them tools that they can apply at home with their family.
Volunteers are still needed for a month at the time for KidStuf activities. If you are interested, please see Carol Holt. We have needs for greeters, small-group assistants, technical helpers and large-group Bible teachers. Remember you would only have a month at a time to allow you to remain active in the morning worship. This is a great outreach for our Children's Ministry--so come on out and give it a look! KidStuf meets each Sunday morning at 11:00 in the Fellowship Hall.

Angel Food Ministries - In partnership with McDonough Road Baptist Church, Lisbon Baptist now participates in the Angel Food Ministry. This ministry offers grocery assistance to anyone who would like to order for themselves, someone they know who needs help, or donate an order for people on DFACS or Senior Citizens organizations' needs lists. For more information, please stop by the Welcome Center and pick up and informational brochure and the current month's order form. Please contact Don Carter at
