Worship Ministry

Worship Through Music . . .

Purpose:

To lead others to the throne of God through authentic and Biblically-based worship.

Celebration Choir Rehearsals - Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m.

At Lisbon Baptist Church, worship is at the core of who we are.  We assemble each Sunday and Wednesday to fellowship, engage in discipleship, and collectively worship.  When we collectively worship, we proclaim to God, "We as a church body, claim You as our Savior, and we give praise to You and You alone."  This is illustrated in Luke 24:50-53.

Worship occurs when sinful man encounters and praises Almighty God.  Worship can happen anywhere and anytime, but must first begin with a contrite heart.  David, the author of numerous praises in Scripture, sets this example when he writes in Psalm 51, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me."  David desired intimate fellowship with God, but knew his heart had to be pure and his sins had to be forgiven.

The next time you are engaged in worship, meditate on the words you are singing, the Scripture you are reading, and the worship in which you are engaging.  Direct all your praise, all your thoughts, all your energies on encountering Him; not enjoyin the presenter, but honoring the Creator.  For He alone is worthy of our praise; He alone deserves the glory.  He desires that time with you.  He wants you to know Him and to experience Him in His fullness.

It is our desire to provide avenues at Lisbon Baptist where every member can experience worship through music.  The purpose of the music ministries of Lisbon Baptist is to lead others to the throne of God through authentic and bilically-based worship.  If you enjoy praising God through song or instrument, please join us in one of the following ministries:
