Dr. Randall Harris, Senior Pastor

      Bro Randall is the senior pastor at Lisbon Baptist Church.  He has been pastor since 1999.  Bro. Randall and his wife, Charlotte, have two adult sons.  They live in Williamson.

 
       Bro. Randall is a native of Georgia and was raised in the Griffin area.  He says his greatest desire is "to please God (rather than people), to equip people to reach the world for Christ, and to be the best husband and father I can be."  His personal goals are to "memorize as much of the Bible as I can before I die, to be fluent in Spanish, and to play the guitar well."

His education includes:

Rev. Ben Thacker, Associate Pastor and Minister of Education

       Ben was raised in the Atlanta area.  He was involved in Youth Ministry before coming to Lisbon Baptist and has been a teacher/coach for 17 years.  Currently, he is a health and sports medicine teacher at Whitewater High School.  He coaches volleyball, basketball, and soccer.  Ben believes that "Lisbon Baptist has her greatest days ahead of her as we walk and grow together in Christ and reach out together to impact our community with the love and compassion of Jesus."

Ben's education includes:

  • 1974-1975  Georgia Tech
  • 1975-1978  Georgia State University, B.S. in Education (health and physical education)
  • 1979-1981 University of Georgia, M.Ed. (health and physical education)
  • 1984-1988 Mid-America Baptist Seminary, M.Div.                                   

       Ben is Associate Pastor and Minister of Education.   Ben and his wife, Cindy, have four children.  They live in Fayetteville.

 

 

 
Rev. Buddy Denmark, Youth Pastor

     Buddy is a full time Minister of Youth at Lisbon Baptist.  He and his wife, Heather, live in Fayetteville and have two children.

                                

 

 

 
        Buddy was born and raised in Portsmouth, Virginia, about 25 miles from Virginia Beach.   He grew up sensing that God wanted him to do something great in his life and with his life.  At a young age, he came to know Jesus as his Savior.  Many years later, Buddy began to sense God calling him to tell students about God's desire to have a love relationship with them.  He continues to make his life mission "To share the love of Jesus Christ, help others become more like Jesus, enable others to reach this generation, and express my love to God in all that I do."  Buddy says he is blessed to be able to fulfill his purpose by building loving relationship with students and families right here in Fayette County. 

Buddy's education includes:

  • Columbia Bible College at Columbia International University with a Bachelor's Degree in Bible and Youth Ministry.

 
Ed Davidson, Minister of Worship

     Ed is from Thomaston, Georgia.  He was involved in church and school choral music, playing guitar and piano, community theater, hunting, and fishing with his family, and school sports.  At age 16, Ed was called to the "ministry through music" and was soon called and ordained by Silvertown Baptist Church.  He served part-time churches until college graduation.  Ed was also the Music and Youth Leader for an active Lay Witness Team.     
 
     Ed's education includes:  1971 - graduated from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia with a BA in music/vocal performance and started his full-time ministry.  
     His first 32 years of ministry served two churches of 300-600 in attendance:  Evergreen Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia, and then Central Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia.  His titles have included Minister of Music, Youth, Worship, Drama, and Senior Adults.  He has served several churches full-time and parttime since moving to the Atlanta area.
His most memorable ministry times include:
  • leading people to receive Christ
  • learning and sharing how God can work through a surrendered life
  • passing on the joy of music through teaching individuals and leading worship
  • seeing many youth dedicate their lives to serving the Lord
  • 30 national and 10 international youth mission trips
  • a 15-year Easter musical/drama that God used to draw thousands and change lives
     Ed is the Worship Leader at Lisbon Baptist church.  He is a mobile teacher of piano, guitar, voice, and a music and drama consultant.  Ed and his wife, Lynn, life in Newnan, Georgia.  They have two adult children.
      
 
 
Debbie Pass, Sectretary/Ministry Assistant

                        Debbie is the church secretary. Sheand her husband, 
Charles, formerly lived in Griffin.  They now live in Pike County.  They have two adult sons.       
 

 
             Debbie's dad was in the army and she  was born at Ft. Benning, Georgia.  Her family moved around, but settled in Enterprise, Alabama when she was in the ninth grade. 

         Debbie has been the secretary at the church for 14 years.  She says, "I consider it an honor, a privilege, and a blessing to help minister through the church office.  God has used my Lisbon "family" to help me grow up in Christ, while at the same time allowing me to use the spiritual gifts He has given me to help edify His body here!  I continue to be humbled and challenged at every ministry opportunity and pray that in all things I will glorify His name with my life and in some way help to bring others to the saving knowledge of their freedom in Christ!"                        
 
Carol Holt, Children's Ministry Director

Carol is the Children’s Ministry Director at Lisbon Baptist Church.  She and her husband, Dean, have two adult sons and one grandson. 

Carol moved to Fayetteville at the age of 12 and has been a member of Lisbon since that time.  She has worked 18 years as a registered nurse, five years as a paraprofessional, and six years as a teacher.  Her goal is to help children develop a relationship with Jesus Christ while they are young and to begin to discover what it means to live for Jesus.

Carol’s education includes:

  • 1975-1978 – Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing
  • 1999-2002 – Mercer University, B.S. Early Childhood Ed.
  • 2005-2006 – Nova Southeastern University, M. Ed. (Elementary Mathematics)

 

Instrumentalists, Margaret Gillham & Anna Gann
 

Margaret Gillham is an instrumentalist at Lisbon Baptist.  She plays piano, organ, and keyboard.  She has been at the church since the fall of 1998.  Margaret teaches at Brooks Elementary School,has a doctorate in educational leadership, lives in Fayetteville, and has an adult son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Anna Stover and three grandchildren, who also live in Fayetteville.

 

 

Anna Gann is an instrumentalist at Lisbon Baptist.  She plays piano, keyboard, and organ.  Anna has been at the church since 2005 and works at Delta Airlines.  She and her husband, Jack, live in Fayetteville.  They have children and grandchildren.
